A seated figure in three-quarter view, the body compact and gathered, both arms folded inward, the face in partial profile looking to the left. The model wears the wrapped turban or headcloth seen previously in Work 1323 (She Stands, Unhurried) — the same model, perhaps, or the same studio prop, the flat-crowned fabric wrap giving the head its distinctive silhouette.
The smaller format of this paper — 11" × 13.75" against the standard 19" × 25" of most figure drawings — means the figure is drawn at a smaller scale, the marks correspondingly tighter and more compact. The pencil is applied with less range of tone than the larger studies; this reads as a sketchbook-format drawing, quickly captured.
The body is gathered inward — arms folded, the torso angled, the knee drawn up. The feet at the lower left are briefly indicated, the toes present in miniature. The composition places the figure in the upper left of the paper, leaving the lower right as open space, a common characteristic of quickly composed figure studies.
The turban motif connects this drawing to 1323 and raises the possibility of a consistent model across the sessions — the wrapped head as a recurring and possibly identifying feature. If so, this is the third appearance of this model in the sequence, and Sidney clearly found the turban's silhouette worth returning to.
