A large green chalk seated figure drawing in profile — a complete figure from crown to foot, the face in profile looking left, the body in the classic seated S-curve, both feet visible at the lower composition. This is among the most complete and formally resolved green chalk figure drawings.
The face in profile is the most described zone — the brow, the nose, the lips, the chin — all in their correct structural relationships. The eye barely indicated; the expression absorbed and inward. The hair is simply gathered at the crown.
The body below the face follows the seated profile S-curve: the chest forward, the waist drawing in, the hip rounding, the thighs descending to the knees. The arm rests along the thigh, the hand visible near the lower leg — reaching or resting, a gesture of casual comfort.
The feet at the lower composition are described with the characteristic Cothran attention: both visible, the toes individually present. The green chalk on cream paper gives the complete seated figure its botanical warmth.
