A large horizontal green chalk figure drawing — a reclining figure seen from the side, the upper body propped or seated upright while the lower body extends to the right along the horizontal. This is the most complete and most compositionally resolved of the green chalk figure drawings: the full figure from the head at the upper left to the feet at the lower right, all zones described, the composition filling the horizontal field.
The face is the most described element in the green chalk series: the profile at the upper left shows the brow, the nose, the lips, the chin — all specifically drawn with the green chalk's characteristic crispness. The neck below transitions to the shoulder, the upper body descending from there.
The lower body extending to the right is described with the same economy as the upper — outer contour, brief shadow marks at the hip and thigh, the feet at the far right with the characteristic toe attention.
The green chalk on the warm cream paper gives the reclining figure its botanical quality — the horizontal body stretched across the paper has the quality of a plant form, the limbs extending toward the light.
