A large blue pencil figure drawing — the figure leaning sharply forward from the waist, the torso nearly horizontal, the head bowing toward the knee while the arms extend downward to touch or reach the lower leg or foot. This is the most dynamic of the forward-lean poses in the figure drawing series: the spine at its most acute angle, the body's weight shifted fully forward.
The warm yellow paper — different from the cream and white papers of most blue pencil works — gives the blue marks a more amber-accented quality, the blue-on-yellow creating a color relationship warmer than blue-on-white.
The upper body — the head, the shoulder, the falling torso — is the most described zone: the hair in a compact bun at the crown, the neck's curve under the lean, the shoulder blades pulling apart as the arms reach forward. The hand at lower center is specifically described: the fingers reaching toward the foot or the floor, the wrist bent at the task of reaching.
The lower body — the hips, the legs, the feet — is less fully described, the contour suggesting the forms without building them. The feet, though briefly drawn, carry the characteristic toe-by-toe attention.
